This video covers installing and running Fallout 4 on Linux using Steam Proton, as well as a fix for silent NPC audio and cracking audio.

Historically Fallout 4 has been a bit of pain to get working on Linux and required several tweaks in order to run correctly, especially if you use mouse and keyboard in a dual monitor setup.

However the latest version of Proton has eliminated all but one of these annoyances, leaving a single tweak required for enabling the audio of NPCs and fixing the crackling audio in game.

This tweak is adding the following argument in the game custom launch options:
